Festival Adjudicators

Allen Ebert

Allen Ebert is the Executive Director at the Children’s Theater of Madison. He was formerly the Executive Director of the award winning La Crosse Community Theatre and spent three years in Vicenza, Italy where he served as the Entertainment Director of the Mediterranean Region. He is also a proud veteran of the United States Army. Allen received his undergraduate Theatre Degree at the University of Wisconsin - Madison. He has adjudicated and conducted workshops regional and national and has enjoyed being an acting instructor and/or director with the following companies: The National High School Theatre Institute at Northwestern University, VACT, Sun Prairie Civic Theatre, Menomonee Falls Patio Players, US Army Kaiserslautern Community Theatre -Germany, Madison Repertory Theatre, First Stage Milwaukee, Forward Theatre and Center Stage, New York.

 

Rita Huschka

For thirty-five years, Rita’s primary focus has been community theatre. Her passion for community theatre has allowed her to work with companies in Canada, Scotland and in the Caribbean. She feels very priviledged to have worked with amazing performers, musicians and playwrights.  As Community Theatre Advisor for Grampian Region (Scotland), Rita advised local theatre companies as well as teaching theatre to primary and secondary students.  In both Scotland and in the Caribbean, she has worked alongside writers as dramaturge, advisor and editor. An award winning director for SCDA (Scotland) and WODL (Canada) as well as an award winning actress (WODL), Rita has coordinated four international theatre exchange programs to facilitate sharing of theatre customs, knowledge, stagecraft and fun. A founding member of four community theatre companies in various countries, Rita has adjudicated the Sears Festival for students, as well as regional theatre festival for Quonta (Quebec and Northern Ontario Theatre Association) and an international monologue competition at aactWorldfest, in Venice, Florida. She is also an insightful director, enthusiastic play polisher and a sought after work shop leader.

 

Jack Phillips

John Grant-Phillips (Jack) has been a working professional actor and director for over thirty years. He received his MFA from the Acting/Directing Division of the Yale School of Drama where he was the John Schubert Memorial Scholar in Directing. Jack has directed nearly 200 productions in professional and community theatres from Belgrade to Los Angeles and has acted in over 50 commercials, tv shows and films. Jack was the Executive Director of the Spokane Civic Theatre WA for thirteen years. He has also been the Artistic Director of the Theatre of Western Springs IL. He is currently a free-lance director in Chicago.

Mission

The Indiana Community Theatre Association encourages and advances excellence in the nonprofessional community theaters of Indiana, and believes that its membership should involve, engage and nourish the community it serves.
